Emergency changes to the running of the Community Emergency Foodbank (CEF) - 19 March 2020
CEF Trustees have made essential changes to the running of CEF.
Our clear priority is to maintain the service whilst ensuring the safety of our volunteers and clients of CEF.
Therefore, it was agreed that, for the time being, it was no longer appropriate for people to collect food from our 3 sites at St Francis Church, Holloway; Barton Neighbourhood Centre and Littlemore Baptist Church.
During the COVID 19 Crisis all our referral agencies have been sent an electronic referral link to be completed by them. All food parcels will be delivered direct to people's doors. If any referral agency has not received this link, please contact email@example.com
From 1st April a delivery service has been set up for all those who have been referred to us. At the moment this is on a Tuesday and Friday morning. All those referred will be contacted by phone prior to a delivery being sent out.
In the meantime we thank our donors for their great loyalty and generosity and our great team of volunteers for their tireless work.
In 2019/20 we distributed over 3000 food parcels and we expect this number will rise during this crisis.
Please note we still need donations of food.
When did it start ?
The warehouse stocks are maintained through the generous support of church congregations, supermarket donation boxes and business and individual giving.
Unfortunately it is not possible to self-refer.
This is a Christian project that aims to be non-denominational and to be supported by local churches in the Oxford area.
